Aziz Memon was one of four Pakistani polio activists to have been awarded with Louis Pasteur medals by the Pasteur Institute of France in recognition of their services towards eradication of Polio from Pakistan.
Mohammad Khuram Shehzad, Syed Latif, Azra Altaf, and Aziz Memon were awarded the medals in a ceremony held in October 2016 in Pasteur Institute in Paris on the occasion of Polio Day.
While speaking on the occasion, the Ambassador of Pakistan to France Moin ul Haque said the recognition of services of the polio workers is an acknowledgement of collective efforts of the Government of Pakistan to achieve the target of declaring Pakistan a Polio free country.
