Last round of Sub National Immunization Days (SNIDs) in the low transmission season, will start from 7th May 2018, targeting 109 districts/towns/agencies in the country focusing on Tier-1, 2, 3 and recent case response districts with bivalent OPV.
We must focus on all transient population from across the border in every district; it continues to remain our biggest challenge. In order to stop the polio virus transmission and to achieve high population immunity, in core reservoirs, advocacy is the key on reaching every child. Building immunity in children under the age of five years in core reservoirs is imperative. Creating awareness on vaccines for preventable diseases by engaging community members is crucial for our program.
This is the last low transmission season and we have to be vigil in monitoring and surveillance in the SNIDs from May 7 – 9, 2018.
Let us join hands to end polio now.
